In the majority of cases, we recommend
Epilight as the first choice for removal of unwanted hair. Sometimes, however, we might assess a client's skin or hair type to be unsuitable for the treatment of choice. We also have a few clients who actually prefer these more traditional techniques.

Most people are familiar with waxing. It's quite painful at first, although subsequent treatments usually become slowly less uncomfortable. It does have the advantage of instantly removing virtually all of the offending hair. It can cause redness and mild inflammation, so it's best to have the wax treatment a few days before an important event. Waxing occasionally has a long term effect of reducing re-growth, although it can also have the exact opposite effect. In general it should be regarded as a short term "fix" that will need to be repeated at regular intervals. Many clients have a wax for a special occasion and many of our male clients wax prior to a holiday for example.

Electrolysis works by shocking the hair follicle with a pulse of electricity. It's applied by means of a fine needle which is inserted down the shaft of the hair

into the follicle. An electric current is then introduced which kills off the the growth bulb. Electrolysis is a very skilled technique if the required results are to be achieved, whilst it is a slow process, in that each hair must be treated individually by the insertion of the needle. We pride ourselves on the results we obtain with this most traditional of techniques. For client safety we use a new needle for every client and treatment.

Advanced Electrolysis

After 5 years of practice of electrolysis and with a therapist that shows the aptitude then Advanced electrolysis training is undertaken. The therapist is then able to do the techniques described on the Problem Page.
