It's natural and correct for the outer layer of our skin to be made up of dead cells. These are shed daily, allowing the skin to renew itself continuously. Unfortunately, this layer can sometimes thicken and the pores can become blocked. The main purpose of the peel is to accelerate the removal of this dry, thickened outer layer and to deeply cleanse and unclog blocked pores, resulting in a brighter, younger, clearer, softer and smoother skin. Problems such as acne, sun damage (pigmentation), in-growing hairs, fine lines, dryness all benefit greatly from a course of between 6 and 20 peels depending on individual needs. Glycolic Acid is derived from sugar cane and is more commonly known as AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid). Of all the AHAs, glycolic acid has the smallest molecular size and is able to penetrate the skin more efficiently.
