Contrary to popular belief, acne isn't confined to teenagers. It can crop up at any time in life, and few things are so devastating to your self confidence. We can offer effective help in the form of Omnilux Blue, an FDA approved treatment, which is a non invasive & is proving an excellent substitute for antibiotics. Blackheads occur when larger skin pores become blocked by the body's natural oils. Airborne dirt adheres to the oil, which then hardens to a noticeable black plug. This is most common on the nose, where the pores are naturally larger than elsewhere on the face. The blockage can lead to minor infections, resulting in pimples and swelling. Now that Kylie Minogue has told the world that she has cellulite, hopefully the rest of us can feel a little less embarrassed about it. Cellulite is caused by fatty deposits distorting the skin's anchorage below the surface. Our main tools for dealing with cellulite are Endermologie and Thermoplast Unwanted fat in certain parts of the body can be extremely stubborn and difficult to shed. Both Endermologie and Thermoplast provide highly effective solutions. Hair from moles can be treated, though your GP's agreement must be obtained prior to treatment. We can provide solutions to the embarrassment they bring in the form of Advanced Electrolysis. Once treatment is started it is normal for the mole to reduce in size and colour. Hairs in moles are generally deep terminal hairs with a very rich blood & nerve supply to them. Repeat treatments, as with electrical epilation, will be required. A Mole is simply a pigmented growth and they appear slightly velvety, but, unlike freckles they have a difference in change and texture to the surrounding skin. Normal moles are common small blemishes or growths on the skin that appear in the first few decades of life. The average young adult has about 25 moles and they usually appear as follows: Shape Symmetrical round or oval Border: sharp and well defined Colour: usually one shade of tan, brown or skin colour Diameter: usually less than 1/4th inch Location: concentrated on sun exposed skin of the face, trunk arms and legs Onset: usually during early childhood through to mid twenties Uniformity: most normal moles on the body look very similar. Any unusual or atypical moles can be markers for an increased risk
of melanoma. Any

These are tiny white lipid-epithelium plugs. Their exact cause is unknown although they are often related to diet with a high cholesterol count, excessive Vitamin C, a too rich moisturising cream and also associated with dry skin which can be acidic. They contain keratin and sometimes get quite hard. They lie very superficially under the skin and are very easy to treat with Advanced Electrolysis. Benign Cutaneous Tumours There are various types of warts, including flat (plane), raised (common) and verrucas (plantar). They are benign epidermal tumours or epidermal proliferation of viral origin which are contagious (human papilloma virus) and all can be treated. Warts can develop individually or in clusters and can spontaneously disappear. The black dot sometimes visible within is capillaries. Flat warts occur mostly on the face, backs of hands and wrists. Hygiene must be of the highest importance to avoid cross infection and If not treated they may spread. Basal Cell Papilloma, Seborrhoeic Keratosis and Seborrhoeic Warts are all benign proliferation of epidermal cells and are easily treated by advanced techniques although it is advisable to obtain the GP’s agreement. These become more common with increasing age. They are seen as raised and appear frequently as several lesions on covered body sites and are also quite common on the face in older people. They are usually brown because of melanin and so can be mistaken for moles. The superficial ‘stuck on’ appearance is a helpful diagnosis point. They can be tiny or large even up to two inches across. Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra is peculiar to black skin and is a common papular disorder which develops in adolescence. The lesions are histologically identical to seborrhhoeic keratosis being smooth, dome shaped, brown to black papules and seen mainly on the cheeks, neck and upper chest. Treated by Advanced Electrolysis.

Fibroepithelial polyp/papilloma and Filiform warts. A common fibrous skin condition most frequently found on
the neck and face. The tags form a single or multiple distribution being
made up of loose fibrous tissue. The colour is often hyper-pigmented making
them more obvious. Skin tags or papilomas are derived from epithelial
cells. They grow resembling a plum on a plum tree and often appear with
a neck The correct terminology is Telangiectasia. This word is from the Greek language meaning end vessel dilation’ and is pronounced tel ANGE ek TA sia. These are not broken capillaries although everyone terms them as such, but rather permanently dilated capillaries. The very thin walls – just one cell thick, of the fine facial capillaries dilate and constrict constantly throughout life, and as we age, they loose their elasticity and the ability to constrict and can become permanently dilated. What causes them? In addition to aging causes for Facial Telangiectasia are
numerous ranging from hereditary, pregnancy, the rubbing of spectacles,
smoking, energetic sports, temperature extremes Campbell de Morgan Spots Known as Cherry angioma (plural angiomata) and they are a vascular blemish where it is not possible to distinguish individual capillaries. They are dome shaped or raised with unknown origin and are most common on the trunk or torso and particularly the midriff back or front and in the middle aged and elderly client. Most people aged over 30 have at least one and they are even more common in men than women. Spider Naevi Naevus is a collective name of vascular and pigmented birthmarks. A coloured
malformation Can all be very successfully treated by Advanced Electrolysis We all want a good growth of hair on our heads, and not too much anywhere else. Our range of treatments varies according to the area to be treated and the effect you want. Epilight is our first choice as its effectiveness and results are vastly superior to traditional techniques such as waxing or electrolysis. though we do appreciate that not everyone wants the permanent soltion of removal and electrolysis is still the preffered method for white hair removal due to the lack of melanin in the hair and therefore the reduced effectiveness of the epilight system in this instance. |
